Allotment Journey -Emily Whitbread

So after 17 months, an emergency operation, a major house renovation, another week long hospital stay where I left with a disease that knocks me out of action from time to time, working full time, 2 kids, 2 dogs, lots trips to the dump and many, many hours spent on my plot I can finally say......... EVERY INCH OF MY PLOT HAS NOW BEEN WORKED!!!!!!

I do get some help from time to time but at least 95% of the hours that have been spent there it has been just me. I've still got plenty of projects up my sleeve but having a bit of restbite from couch grass and bindweed roots is something I'm looking forward to! (I know I'll still be finding some but the concentration will be drastically reduced ).

There's a few new plot holders at Garston Manor and it may seem like a daunting task when you first take your plot on but keep chipping away and you will get there!

I'm off to celebrate by prepping the purple sprouting broccoli I harvested from the plot today ready for dinner tomorrow, I've never tried it before!
